Apple USB-C adaptor HDMI issues

Description

There have been an increasing number of reports of issues displaying content from Apple devices connected to the lectern via HDMI with USB-C adaptors. This issue appears to be inconsistent and unpredictable. In some cases, switching out adaptors has resolved the issue and in others, switching from one USB-C port to another has provided a workaround.

We are also unable to provide direct USB-C connections to classroom AV equipment as that equipment does not have built-in USB-C connections. HDMI is standard on most equipment.

We are investigating this ongoing issue. Unfortunately, this is a challenging issue to resolve given its inconsistency.

Workaround (if available)

Loaned instructor a different adaptor for the duration of the quarter.
